Jewish Environmentalism and How to Save the Earth

  • Lehrhaus 425 Washington Street Somerville, MA 02143 USA (map)

How green is Judaism? What do our sacred texts tell us about how people should ethically interact with nature? Join the Jewish Alliance for Law and Social Action (JALSA) for an introduction to Jewish environmental ethics and history. The program covers the history of Jewish environmentalism, investigates texts from the Torah and Talmud, and connects these ideas with an action to advocate for the Zero Carbon Renovation Fund (ZCRF) in the State Legislature.

Andrew Steinberg is an organizer for the Jewish Alliance for Law and Social Action (JALSA). In his role, he has mobilized hundreds of volunteers around issues related to reproductive rights, voting rights, immigrant justice, and environmental justice.
