Chai to the Chief: American Jews and the Race for the White House

What is the history of the “Jewish vote” and what roles have American Jews played in American presidential politics? Explore the history of how American Jews have thought about presidential politics and consider how this history might inform how we think about the 2024 election.

Dr. Jonathan Golden is the Director of Wellspring Leadership Initiatives at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America. Previously, he served as Israel Curriculum Coordinator and history teacher at Gann Academy in Waltham, MA, where he also held roles such as Assistant Head of School and Director of Academic Operations. He teaches adult education on contemporary Israel and is involved in various community organizations, including CJP’s Boston-Haifa Shared Society Task Force and the JCRC Boston. A Princeton graduate with advanced degrees from Hebrew College and Brandeis University, Dr. Golden has been recognized with several awards for his contributions to Jewish education and leadership. He lives in Brookline, MA, with his family and is an active member of his community.
