World of Torah Craft: How to Share Torah

  • Lehrhaus 425 Washington Street Somerville, MA 02143 USA (map)

The idea behind this class is simple: anybody can give over an insightful Torah teaching if they just believed in their own abilities! Each one us has a unique lens of the world, and by using it to share thoughts on the weekly Torah portion with others we are able to offer our perspective while also enriching and expanding the realm of Sacred Scripture. This class will approach preparing Divrei Torah (words of Torah) as both an intellectual and spiritual practice. Learners will learn about the importance of learning for the sake of learning, and how to transmute that learning into a gift for others. No previous writing experience necessary, but basic Hebrew skills are a major bonus.

Beni is a rising Shanah Hey rabbinical student at Hebrew college. A highly proficient teacher of sacred texts and meditation, dedicated to inspiring seekers of all generations to live their Judaism as a spiritual practice. Experienced musician with own album of original niggunim. Deeply connected to innovations within Jewish practice and committed to a 21st century neo-Hasidic Judaism that is post-denominational, radically playful, deeply rooted in tradition yet unbounded and open to the world. At home in nearly any Jewish setting, and loves a good kiddush shmooze.
