Ahead of the celebration of Shavuot, join R’ Jackson Mercer of Base BSTN and Noah Clickstein of Lehrhaus, to explore the classic cheese-making techniques and processes, sample different types of cheese, and learn about the incredible connection between our melty, tasty dairy friend and Shavuot. Lactaid not included.
Rabbi Jackson Mercer was ordained at the Rabbinical School of Hebrew College with a Specialization in Spirituality and Social Justice and a Masters in Jewish Education with a concentration in Israel Education in conjunction with the iCenter. He has worked to build singing prayer communities across the country in California, New York and here in Boston. When not recording his own music, like his most recent album – “Notnim B’ahavah Reshut”, Jackson sings with the Chaverai Nevarech Band featured on R’ Josh Warshawsky’s albums.
Noah Clickstein, Lehrhaus co-executive chef, grew up in a mixed Sephardi and Ashkenzai home in Winchester, MA, twenty minutes outside Boston. He credits his love of food to growing up in the communal and cuisine elements of a highly cultural and semi-religious Jewish home. This led him to the Culinary Institute of America and his profession. He started at Boston landmark, “L’Espalier”, working his way up to dining room Captain followed by three years at the award winning “Juliet + Company” serving as executive sous chef. Chef Noah has been on the Lehrhaus team when the award winning Jewish tavern and house of learning was just an idea. Since then he has helped lead the team to multiple local and national accolades including Lehrhaus being named as one of the best new restaurants in the US by Esquire Magazine.
