Thresholds: Reading and Writing Poems of Transition

  • Lehrhaus 425 Washington Street Somerville, MA 02143 USA (map)

Though we know that change is a constant in our lives, it is sometimes hard to notice the moment of transition itself. Together we will look closely at short pieces by both Israeli and American Jewish poets like Grace Paley and Yehuda Amichai that use the language of doorways and thresholds to capture the experience of change, and we will try our hands at capturing our own moments of transition. No experience necessary!
