SOLD OUT: The Jewish Birth of Jesus: Jewish Imagery in New Testament Narratives

  • Lehrhaus 425 Washington Street Somerville, MA 02143 USA (map)

SOLD OUT: Join the waitlist!

The birth of Jesus, celebrated by most Christians on Christmas, is told and retold in the New Testament. Yet much about this story - including Jesus himself! - is very Jewish. We will examine the allusions to Biblical and Rabbinic literature in these stories, and consider the implications of these intentional, polemical choices made by the authors of the gospels.
