Talmud You Should Know: Can One Pray on a Donkey: The Details of Jewish Prayer You Never Thought to Ask

  • Lehrhaus 425 Washington Street Somerville, MA 02143 USA (map)

When Brandeis Professor Jon Levisohn asked leading rabbis and scholars what pieces of Talmud every literate Jew should know, what emerged was a list of 66 sugyot, or passages, ranging from the practical to the absurd, from the legal to the narrative and everything in between.

In this series join Lehrhaus co-founder Rabbi Charlie Schwartz as he teaches his way through each sugya on the list. It might take a while to get through the whole thing but there will certainly be a lot of fun along the way.

All backgrounds and levels welcome

This class's sugya: Berakhot 30a-b
