An ancient Talmudic text warns 'The Best of Doctors go to Hell' - tov shebarofim leGehenom. We'll study this provocative passage to wrestle with the limits of ancient and modern medicine, exploring Rabbinic and Biblical scholars' approaches to the meaning and pitfalls of certain career paths.

Taught by Dr. Andrea Wershof Schwartz

Dr. Andrea Wershof Schwartz is a geriatrician at Harvard Medical School where she co-directs the Aging and End of Life Longitudinal Theme for Medical Students and is the Associate Director for Clinical Innovation at the Geriatrics Research Education and Clinical Center at VA Boston. Dr. Schwartz holds an MA from the Jewish Theological Seminary and serves on the steering committee of the Harvard Medical School Arts and Humanities Initiative.
