God Is Here: Reimagining the Divine

  • Lehrhaus 425 Washington Street Somerville, MA 02143 USA (map)

Rabbi Toba Spitzer will share selections from her 2022 book, God Is Here: Reimagining the Divine, an exploration of non-human metaphors for God from Jewish tradition that get us beyond the "Big Guy In The Sky." Whether you're comfortable with traditional God language, totally turned off, or somewhere in between, please join the conversation!

Toba Spitzer has been the spiritual leader of Congregation Dorshei Tzedek in West Newton, MA since 1997. She was the first LGBTQ leader of a national rabbinic organization, and most recently has been recognized as a "rabbinic human rights hero" by T'ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights. She is a well-known author and teacher, and has a life mission to bowl in all 50 states (34 down so far!).
