Echoes of the Past, Challenges of the Present: Jews and Race (Part 2)

  • Lehrhaus 425 Washington Street Somerville, MA 02143 USA (map)

Racism has shaped American history and continues to impact our society today. In this class, we’ll examine how racism operates on both personal and structural levels and explore its connection to Jewish identity and experience. How has white supremacy fueled both racism and antisemitism? What does today’s backlash against DEI and critical race theory mean for our communities? Together, we’ll reflect on the resurgence of racism and antisemitism, the role of intersectionality in shaping racial and Jewish identities, and how we can respond to these challenges in meaningful ways.
