Lehrhaus serves as a contemporary house of learning for the 21st century offering a wide range of events, classes, and learning opportunities.

Work, Collaborate, & Learn as a Member

As a daytime member, you can use Lehrhaus as a co-learning space during business hours, collaborate with local educators, engage in paired learning, and enroll in exclusive daytime classes, or just use Lehrhaus to relax with friends or focus on your work.

  • Yes! We are certified by KVH as a dairy (chalav stam) kosher restaurant.

  • Of course! Just like you don’t have to be French to enjoy a French restaurant, you don’t have to be Jewish to enjoy a Jewish tavern and house of learning.

  • Yes! We are able to accommodate groups of up to 8 people. Reservations are only accepted online, and we always keep tables available for walk-ins!

  • Yes! Lehrhaus has limited capacity to host groups larger than eight as private parties. For inquires please fill out the interest form listed under Private Events.

  • Yes! Lehrhaus is owned by The Lehrhaus Center for Jewish Life and Learning, INC, a registered 501c3 with the charitable mission of spreading a love of Jewish life and learning.

  • Have no fear! There is almost always on-street metered parking on Beacon Street, just around the corner from Lehrhaus. Click here for a handy map to help you find it!

  • Yes! The Lehrhaus backyard is open for seating on a first-come, first-serve basis. The accessible entrance is through the alleyway off Beacon Street. Just check-in with our host before heading to the backyard.

Inspired by the Frankfurt Lehrhaus of 1920s Germany, Lehrhaus is a Jewish tavern and house of learning where people of all backgrounds can grab a book from the shelf, meet with a hevruta (study partner), take an interesting class, and delight in amazing Jewish food and drink.

We’re on a mission to make Jewish life more joyful, meaningful, and accessible through excellent hospitality and learning.
